A short tour of clients and programs I’ve led at INFO in Amsterdam, in earlier consulting roles, and currently at the Jan IngenHousz Institute. The interesting cases tend to sit at the intersection of engineering and the business: productising a service line, building observability into a fleet, taking a marketplace through a monolith → microservices → monorepo arc, leading an IoT product team, or turning a research institute into a product organisation.

  • openJII

Open-source platform for plant-science and photosynthesis research at the Jan IngenHousz Institute. As Technical Program Manager I run the program across data acquisition, analytics, user activation, and platform enablement, turning a research institute into something closer to a product organisation.

  • Just Eat Takeaway (INFO)

Embedded product team at one of Europe’s largest food-delivery marketplaces, building the loyalty platform that scaled to nine countries and eight languages. Our slice rode the full architecture pendulum: three repos (customer frontend, admin, backend) → seven as the backend decomposed → back to a single Turborepo monorepo running seven services. AWS EKS, Kafka, Node.js, TypeScript, Redis.

  • Greenwheels (INFO)

Led data and monitoring consulting for one of the Netherlands’ largest car-sharing networks. The team was drowning in roughly 1,000 daily alerts; we built a layered customer-journey-driven monitoring framework on Azure DevOps, Grafana, Python, Terraform and an Azure data lake, with top-tier dashboards for support and deeper tiers for engineering.

  • Evaq Lighting (INFO)

IoT platform for a Dutch startup making smart emergency lighting that cuts evacuation time in half. Service-design through to architecture: an OpenThread/Matter mesh, a Digital Twin backend, an AWS + Databricks data lake for predictive maintenance, and apps for engineers and facility managers, with a claimed 40% lower TCO vs traditional systems.

  • INFO Data Platform Practice

Identified the market opportunity, built the team, and grew this into a €1.5M revenue line for INFO at 20–30% higher margins than our typical project work. The interesting part wasn’t the technology; it was productising a service line.

Other engagements

Other engagements over the years have spanned tech vision and cloud-migration consulting for a Dutch horticulture group running greenhouse automation, engineering leadership and team-build for a vertical-farming startup, technical due diligence for an agritech sensor and irrigation-software company, and engineering for a national sports federation. Earlier freelance work covered platform-scaling for Meet Croatia and SPICA, and technical due diligence for early-stage investors.
